Dental Cleanings

We deep clean you pet’s teeth safely and without anesthesia.

Safe and effective nonanesthetic oral care

Most dogs and cats are candidates for nonanesthetic oral care. Our certified veterinarians and technicians have the experience necessary to ensure safe, effective and comfortable teeth cleaning to help prevent periodontal disease.

How does anesthesia-free dental cleaning work?

Anesthesia-free dental cleaning is the process of cleaning your pet’s teeth without putting them into a state of “controlled unconsciousness” by administering localized anesthesia. It is a non-invasive alternative that eliminates any risk to your pet during and after their dental care.

While anesthesia is needed during major surgeries to repair broken bones or remove tumors, minor procedures such as teeth cleaning can be performed by veterinarians using calming techniques that eliminate any fear and stress, allowing for a state that is conducive during teeth cleaning.

The benefits of anesthesia-free dental cleaning

As mentioned, all risks associated with administering anesthesia are eliminated. Your pet will be alert and active when you arrive to pick them up after their appointment. Anesthesia-free oral care also reduces dental care costs for the pet owner that can get very expensive.

Neglecting your pet’s teeth can lead to periodontal disease.

Plaque and tartar buildup are a natural part of a dog’s life. But left untreated, excessive buildup of plaque and calculus can lead to more serious problems like periodontal disease, chronic pain, bone degeneration, and gingivitis of your pet’s gums.

Keep your pet on the path to healthy teeth and gums

Your pet care journey with VanVets includes a comprehensive medical record of your pet that will include your pet’s visit history notes neatly organized to ensure future appointments will be comprehensive and efficient. Current vaccinations, any current or past medical conditions or issues, any medication allergies or previous reactions are examples of information that is extremely helpful for the veterinarians and technicians to better know your pet.

We requests some background information on your pet prior to your appointment so that we can provide the best possible care. To better understand your pet, we ask that pet owners complete a simple medical history form of their pet prior to their pet’s appointment and evaluation process.
