Diagnostic Tests

Testing in our mobile clinic help diagnose and treat your pet’s health problems.

Convenient veterinary diagnostic testing

The VANVETS veterinarian may recommend certain tests to diagnose a symptom and make sure your pet is in the best possible health. Diagnostic testing in our mobile clinic includes a variety of tests that help veterinarians diagnose and treat pets’ health problems.

Common diagnostic tests

In addition to X-rays and ultrasound, some other commonly used diagnostic tests include:

Blood Tests

These are used to evaluate the pet’s organ function, detect infections, and assess for certain diseases such as heartworm or feline leukemia virus.

Urinalysis

This is an analysis of the urine that provides important information about the pet’s kidney function, liver function, and can detect infections or bladder stones.

Fecal testing

This is the examination of the pet’s feces for parasites such as roundworms, hookworms, or tapeworms.

Biopsies

These are samples taken from suspicious areas of the pet’s body, such as lumps or tumors, for microscopic examination to diagnose cancer or other diseases.

Cultures

These are used to identify bacterial infections and determine which antibiotics would be most effective.

Allergy testing

This can include skin testing or blood work to identify the source of a pet’s allergic reaction, whether it’s to food, environmental allergens, or flea saliva.
